Job Opening - Editor

The Editor’s role is to transform raw footage into a final product. Using computer technology, editors mix video footage with music, sound effects, audio, and special effects. They are responsible for most of the post-production process, and their editorial decisions determine how the story is told, ultimately molding the audience’s experience.


  • Utilize thorough Avid knowledge to edit video and sound for assigned segments
  • Keep media organized for ongoing assignments
  • Follow specific footage, photos, and notes on the script that will guide editors to enhance a segment’s look and feel
  • Assist producers in maintaining the edit and delivery schedule
  • Work closely with the producer on meeting the goals and deadlines of multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Perform other post-production duties as needed and as directed by supervisors
  • Document daily work completed

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Interest in the principles of television production and media
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Must be responsible, accurate, creative, organized, and able to work under deadline pressure
  • Should be self-motivated and flexible
  • Must be able to take direction from several producers as well as senior editors
  • Juggle multiple assignments under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with graphic designers
  • Utilize thorough Avid knowledge to conceptualize and create picture and sound for assigned segments
  • 1 year of professional experience
