The Story…
Our team first came across Melissa Radke via a video she posted to Facebook that garnered quite a bit of attention. It was so funny and relatable that we knew we had to get her on the phone. And that’s how our USA Network unscripted family sitcom The Radkes came to be.
We spent 6 months in TX watching and capturing Melissa’s fresh and hilarious perspective on life and motherhood. She’s unlike anyone we’ve ever met and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share the adventures (and misadventures) of this charming, imperfectly perfect family.
This six-episode, half-hour series centers around Melissa and her big, loud, Southern family. They live in Lufkin, TX – the small East Texas town where she was born and raised. This outspoken mom will give you her opinion on almost anything, even if you didn’t ask. She’s funny, charming and the life of every party… especially the ones she wasn’t invited to!
Melissa’s world revolves around her husband David and their two children Remi and Rocco and all the trials and tribulations that come with raising a family in a town where everyone knows your name. She’s a pretty big personality for such a small town, but ask Melissa why she loves Lufkin and she’s quick to tell you:
“Because the barbecue is better and the babysitting is free.”
